Principia Mission branding
British astronaut Tim Peake, the first official British astronaut in space, is currently on a 6-month mission to the International Space Station. Working with the UK Space Agency and the European Space Agency, a team from DESIGN102, with me acting as lead designer, created the branding for the ‘Principia’ mission, produced a range of material including brand guidelines, posters, t-shirts, videos, and worked with web developers to deliver a Principia mission website: www.principia.org.uk. View the brand guidelines here: https://principia.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Principia_guidelines_final.pdf
The main 'Principia' logo mark, using a combination of the European Space Agency's main font and the font used by the UK Space Agency.
'Newton Marks' – illustrations based on original drawings from Sir Isaac Newton's book 'Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica', from which the mission takes its name.
